Been reading lately wanted to share

My dad was dx. Stage IV with met. to both lobes of the liver in July

2003. I've been on the board since then but am not really an active

poster any more. Dad's growth shrunk quite a bit and he really hasn't

had any new growth. He takes chemo every 2 weeks - currently on

Oxiplatin and Avastin. He tried the Erbitux and had a severe reaction

to that and will never take it again.

But on Thursday of last week he developed pneumonia. His white count

was terribly low and so was his hemoglobin and platelettes. His

antibotics have started to work and his white count started to rebound

a little - but he is receiving a 3 pint blood transfusion today. He

is fighting but it has definately taken a toll on all of us.
