On Ab Fab tonight (not one of my favourite programmes but DH likes it) they

had a " Jewish " couple on and he was a " rabi " and she was wearing a wig, which

she did remove at one point. She said been a Jew was a bore as she could

only make love once a month through a sheet? What is she talking about?

Now totally confused!

Hiya Ruthie!!

Hope you are coping with mammoth catering operations and having a good

time! Please smell one of those lovely citrus lulavs for me (or is

that later?) I seem to remember the perfume being really fragrant...

PS - don't think that sounds weird at all, one's got to have some rest

and relaxation some time, no?! Otherwise how on earth would one

fininsh one's bookgroup books?!!

The citrus fruit we have on Sukkot is called an Ethrog but I will

smell one for you! Do you know we have a lemon tree in our garden

here? Those fruits, freshly picked, smell of heaven!

Oooh, I miss those from Australia. Everyone had lemon trees in their

gardens and they had so much fruit it was incredible.

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.

The bounty varies from year to year. I guess Israel has less

rainfall than Australia? We do water our garden but we have to be

careful with water these days. Two years ago we had such a massive

crop (about 300 lemons) I was taken a wheelbarrow full round the

neighbours giving away as much as they would accept. The following

year I think the tree was exhausted and only had a dozen or so

lemons. This year it's somewhere inbetween.

Our lemons are ripe when green, are sweeter then than when yellow.
