Guest guest
We were over your way, Sue (S)! last night. We visited the Hants astro observatory at Clanfield, with a group from work. My DDs were fascinated ! We got to see the 4 domes of various size, and we got several sights of the moon and Mars through a large telescope. http://www.hantsastro.org.uk They are having an open weekend in Nov (16th-18th) which sounds good. I would recommend night visits for older children (mine are 7 & 10) - not too much younger, as it is a Dark site (i.e. no lights, and torches must be kept low, so you can adapt your eyes to the dark)and there are a few concrete posts to trip over. fascinating stuff. Guest guest
ohh I'm green with envy and so are dds they love this sort of thing. Weather permitting dd1 & I are off bird ringing on Sunday morning which should prove very interesting but at the moment the forecast is awful.
