This is not said in a competitive spirit (and has perhaps been said

before I think) - but I kept an emergency dentist's appointment whilst

in early labour as I didn't think the baby was *that* imminent, and

knew it would be really hard to get to an appointment

afterwards....was quite amusing at the odd slight wince for the

dentist to ask whether that was him or me! I had also gone to the

school 'Friday singing' sess held by the headmistress with her

guitar - it was great to sing all these uplifting songs at the

beginning of a labour of creation, as twere...

Apologies if repeating myself (allowed in over '45's , me thinks?)
