Most of us read the descriptions in AI (several times) and judge how well they fit us, and try those things that seem to match our symptoms. Also, a lot of us start very slowly and only add one thing at a time so that we can decide if we're tolerating it. Myself, I wait at least 4 days between changes since I tend to process slowly (and sometimes longer). As far as zinc is concerned... zinc tends to be one of the minerals that amalgam poisoning really interferes with, so we need a lot of it just to get the minimum effect.
