Yip, it is the glycyrrhizic acid that gives the licorice its cortisol

retaining effect, you take it out and it is useless for adrenal problems

(though it is still effective for helping gut lining problems though without

the G. Acid).

That is why proper Whole Licorice Extract is standardized to at 14.4% G.

Acid.

Hi Deborah

I believe it is helpful for all mucous membranes, which would include the

epithelial lining of the gut and lungs (which are derived from the same

embryological segment).

I would assume that it may be more helpful with the G.Acid since increased

cortisol will reduce inflammation.
