The Surgeon removed his tumor, but they say they are not sure if it is anywhere eles, but they did test his lymphnodes & there are no signs of cancer, but they keep telling us they can never be sure & they want us to do a 5 months of chemo. I cant remember the chemo drugs they want to use, but I have them written down. My husband did the genetic testing & it came back that he has the HNPCC(???) I thought that he was really lucky(since his tumor was on something that could be removed), but to him he feels as if there is no hope & that he will die of cancer. he does have a long family history of colon cancer. His grandfather & uncle passed from it & his Dad has it right now Again thank you all for your replies, hearing your personal stories mean alot to me Thanks, Faith Hi Faith... Try to keep instilling positive thoughts to your hubby....He is young and vibrant. He CAN beat this damn monster!!! He'll have a few months that might not be the most pleasant, but he CAN beat it....there are many here who have!!! If they hadn't found it until he was 45, his odds would be much less!!! He may not understand this but I'm so happy for him that they found it!!! What is his name, so we can add him to our prayer list?? The surgeon told me that his tumor was encapsulated like his body had put a wall around the tumor --I thought that was amazing that his body tried to protect him like that-- i kept trying to tell him that his body is healthy & wants to fight it off, but he is so depressed he doesnt listen to me. His name is . He has to come back to me at one time he had the most kind heart. He was a man that was so ambitious. he is my 1st & only love and I would do anything to take this pain away from him. He has had UC for so long, but it has gotton worse since his colon surgery-- thanks for your prayers Faith Faith... when he comes back, maybe you can suggest to the Onc. that he is severely depressed... they put Glenn on low dose Ritalin, while he was on chemo, which gave him just a little more energy (it works the opposite in adults as it does in children) and helped his depression. Then he was off of it for a while, as they took him off of all his meds. Now he is on a low dose of Celexa and is just kicking in and there is a noticeable difference. He's not so crabby, not so temperamental, not so negative, not so distant. Hope you can get some help for !! If not, get help for YOURSELF!!!
