Guest guest
Finkle - Here's my take on your test: Ouch! You are one toxic boy ... 7 red 3 high - all low pattern. 13 outside of the green zone. Congratulations - you've met _all three_ counting rules! Yes, copper is getting up there. You will probably want to go on the copper protocol for a while: In addition to Zinc, take Molybdenum 1-3mg/day & Milk thistle. Avoid high copper foods (nuts). Avoid any supplements with copper. Copper is not so high that you will have to be concerned with using caution with ALA. Li red low ==> Try lithium orotate or aspartate. Mg yellow low with Na/Mg low ==> Give magnesium, taurine and try B6. Na/K fine K/Ca = .006, very low ==> TEST THYROID. Na/Mg = .5 ==> your adrenaline is low. Tyrosine, Phenylalanine (red meat or supplement) Methyl donors: TMG (.5-2g early in day), folic acid (.4-1.2mg, 4x/d) & B12 (several mg/d); NB! Too much methl donors can cause anger, aggression and lack of motivation. B6. Here is the deal on B6: B6 does not agree with everyone. Adult: 100-250mg with meals and at bed-time (3-4x/day). If it works, worth experimenting with amounts. If not, don't jack it up. If > 500mg 4x/day can get tingling & numbness in hands & feet. If happens, stop and it will cease in a few days. Adjust for children, assuming avg adult weight 135lb. In general, you want to jam in as many nutrients as you can, to try to get that all low pattern up. Use a multi vitamin/mineral without copper or iron. Also, here are the basic supplements you will want to use: B50 or B100 once or twice /d Buffered C, 4g/d Mg, 100mg 4x/d and increase to 200 in a few weeks Avoid the oxide form, it's not absorbable. Magnesium citrate, malate, aspartate, or amino acid chelate are best. Mg Supps is done by taking 100-200mg (adult) with each meal and possibly at bedtime. The amount used is adjusted to the max level that is not laxative. Ca should also be given so the ratio of Ca to Mg intake from all sources (food & pills) is somewhere between 1:2 and 2:1. Vit E, 400-1000IU/d CoQ10, 75-200mg/d Zinc, 20mg + 1mg/lb Flax Oil, 10+g/d (1-2 tbsp) or CLO (1/2 - 1 tbsp) Borage oil, 1+g/d (1-2 tsp) Milk thistle, 1-2 cap/meal Folic acid, 400-800mcg/d Make sure any selenium is in some form like selenomethionine or selenium yeast. AIp. 162: 50-300mcg a day total. Try Lecithin, Choline & B12 to see how you respond. A couple of comments, below. Dave ------------------- Posted by: " finklemcgraw " finklemcgraw@... finklemcgraw Thu Jun 19, 2008 9:38 pm (PDT) Hi, Here's my first hair test: http://www.livingnetwork.co.za/files/hairtest_179.pdf I seem to be very high on copper... Perhaps I'm " Cu-toxic " and not " Hg-toxic " , as I've thought up till now. This is my background: >1) What are your current symptoms and health history? I have a history of intestinal problems. Was diagnosed with Crohn's disease (IBD) at the age of 13. Currently I'm ~30 years old and have IBS like symptoms which sometime tend a bit towards IBD. I've done maybe 15 rounds of ALA chelation, started with 10 rounds of 100 mg of ALA for 1 week ON, 1 week OFF. After about 10 rounds, I startet getting symptoms of chest tightness which led me to stop chelation for maybe 6 months. I'm not at it again, but now with a much smaller dosage: 12.5 mg every 2-3 hours for 3-4 days. Yes. 100mg was very high. >2) Dental history (wisdom teeth removed? First root canal placed? Braces? First amalgam etc...) >I've never had any amalgam fillings. Where'd you get all this from, then? >3) What dental work do you currently have in place? What part of the dental cleanup have you completed? Some composite fillings. >4) What dentistry did your mother have at any time before or during pregnancy? Some amalgam fillings (5+?), before duing and after pregnancy. >5) What vaccinations have you had and when (including flu and especially travel shots)? Can't remember exactly, but I was vaccinated once before I went to Africa, and once before I went to the Caribbean. I'm sure it was a lot more than one vaccine. I got a dozen before going to India. >6) Supplements and medications (including dosages) taken at time of hair test, or for the 3-6 months before the sample was taken. Some magnesium (~150 mg / day), selenium (~200 mcg / day) and C-vit (250 mg / day). >7) Other information you feel may be relevant? My father was a dentist, and my mother worked as a dental assistant before, during and after her pregnancy. As a teenager I worked a couple of hours every weekend cleaning my fathers dental practice. Ooph! Well, at least you didn't have any amalgam fillings! Dave.
