I can understand where in some areas it is an absolute necessity for kids to

drive. My two older kids were lucky they had free drivers Ed in school. So

got their license and paid their own insurance etc. Well then school decided

no more free drivers ed, so here come the leeches and charging upwards from

$200 to teach our kids how to drive. Told son that for a 10% reduction

in my auto insurance it was not worth it. So I drove him to school every

morning, (he did ride his bike to school until he nearly got killed). He

got his license when he was 18 and has been a better driver for it. Or was

until he got stupid and got a DUI.. Spose to get wiser as you get older, but

I think he is regressing or was for awhile anyway.

I cannot imagine not having a license. I just had never thought about it, I

guess.

Kids start driving here around age 14, practice and learning and they are

even allowed to miss school if their 16th birthday happens to fall on a

school day so they can go take their drivers exam.

My youngest turned 16 on a day that the exams weren't given in this county

so we drove to another county!!LOLOL

Course, we are so deep in the woods that if a kid doesn't drive, they have

NO social life, no sports, no activities, no jobs,etc..

And it is farming and timber country. Most kids grow up driving tractors,

haying equipment, logging trucks, etc.

Guess it all depends on where you live, huh?
