Re: Pocket alarm clock

After a year off, I have just start back chelating dmsa every four hours.

One reason I stopped was because I kept missing doses and having to start

over. This time I did some research and bought a timer/alarm from

http://www.invisibleclock.com/. I ordered it because it has 12 different

alarms - but I never use them. I just set the timer to repeat every four

hours. It is small enough to carry in my pocket - about the size of an mp3

player. I've only used it for about two weeks so I can't really comment on

long term durability or reliability, but so far I am pleased with it.

I have a wrist watch with a vibration mechanism that works for me. It's called

a " VibraLite 3 " .

If you do a google search for " vibralite " you'll see various sources. I ordered

mine through

Amazon.

It has a countdown timer. You just set it for, say, three hours, and it

automatically resets

itself.

Use a cell phone that has a calendar function, preferably one that will

turn itself on to ring the alarm when the phone is powered down.

While it might not ring until you turn it off, you'd have to be

literally dead to sleep through it, especially if you pick the most

annoying alarm/ring possible to wake you.

Ok, thanks. I have an " invisible clock " but its not reliable, and I

frequently miss the 3 little beeps. The vibrating function also

frequently lets me down too. I think 1 or 2 alarms it can handle….but

I'm on dosages at 2.5 hours in the day and 3 hours at night and the 9

alarms settings I need just freaks these gadgets out.

My old motarola phone was a rubbish phone but had a great calendar that

never let me down. But it broke and got upgraded to a blackberry. My

blackberry is a great phone and email system but again when I add 9

appointments in the calendar setting…..it freaks it out and frequently

misses reminding me. Not the most reliable of gizmos.

I have not heard of vibralite watches….that looks like the next thing I

will investigate. Thanks vm.

Pyrex kitchen timer with magnet! I use it at home and away, it's small

and works great.

There is no law stating that you can't have a separate cell phone

that you use just for chelation alarms! :)

I actually bought an old model cell phone at a cheap price and the

only thing I use it for is to wake me up when I chelate. I never

even activated the phone.
