Nan,

A blood clot was precisely what I was concerned about. I'm relieved that they ruled it out! I know the ER is exhausting...had my own recent experience at the Duke ER....it's not fun no matter where you are.

Mainly I'm just glad you are ok, hope you're getting some much needed rest.

I went for my echocardiogram at 2:30 Thurs. afternoon. By 3PM, I was done. My leg cramp that I posted about in an earlier post was still there. So, I called my primary doc and asked if this was something to be concerned about. I was told yes. Go to the ER and get checked. The ER doc thought of DVT (deep vein thrombosis). Sent me for an ultrasound on the leg and drew blood work. Ultrasound came back clear. But, the blood work showed high white cells and a test called D-dimer(?) showed an elavation. I asked what can cause it and was told a multitude of things. One being a blood clot. So, next they send me for CatScan and more blood work. I know this is long........SO, bottom line. everything is fine. Told to repeat the ultrasound in a week if the cramp is still there. It's now 1:08AM on friday and I'm just getting home. (hosp. is about 2 minute drive from me).I'm beat but wanted to check in and let people know I'm ok.Nite all,Nan 49,
