Guest guest
I don't have the research but I took a course in Human Development in 2000 which talked in one chapter about everyone having the potential for certain diseases such as cancer. These are like switches on our DNA and life factors and genetics play a role on whether or not that switch is turned on. We did discuss at length that STRESS has a high correlation to cancer as well as heart disease. I must note that a CORRELATION does not necessarily mean cause and effect only that it seems that many people with cancer have high stress levels. Well golly gee Mr. Scientist that's a no brainer. Someone tells you you have a fatal illness and guess what YOU HAVE STRESS!! DUH!!! (If you think this is dumb you should have seen the studies Infant development people have done to prove stuff like if you talk to your infant a lot he/she will talk early and have a better vocabulary PEOPLE are paid the big bucks for that??) So anyway it is a which came first Stress or Cancer issue. Anyway if I can find my old notes (they may be tossed by now) and textbook I'll look it up for you. The studies are pretty interesting. Course, I guess the only way would be through autopsy, which isn't done unless foul play is suspected, or there is a great " family need to know " because of possible genetic tendencies .... and they are expensive. But, I can't help but wonder, if autopsies were done on everyone, how many people would be found with cancer ... but that cancer had not done anything yet? Maybe something for us all to keep in mind. Our bodies are gone over very closely...alot...with scans. If everyone's' bodies were gone over this way, would cancers be much more prevalent than we know? Is it possible to have a cancer at age of 30 and it not kick in until perhaps age 70? I find this really intriguing and would love to have the data and information to research it further. I think this may be something that will shed new light on cancer in the next generation or so. Guest guest
I have heard that cancer is so common that many older people may have it and are not aware of it till it becomes life threatening. Yes, Makes me wonder about how many that die of heart attack or stroke and had cancer also. But, you know those thoughts are depressing. To all live our lives only to find out that we all will get cancer one way or another. I am not sure it would be a good idea to try to search into this very deeply since it would just make us worry more about the return of cancer in our systems. Maybe life is not meant for us to know these things. Who knows??? , if you dwell into this too deeply you are going to just frighten yourself. I am not sure this is such a good thing to research. Guest guest
>>>I know I have heard some mention the theory that we all have cancer in us and that just in some it shows itself. I just wonder if they will ever know what really happens in people. Ingrid >>>> Ingrid, Honestly? I do not think we will ever know. Not on this ol' earth. Some things are just meant to be mysteries. Now, I have not given up hope on a cure being found!!! But as to what causes things to happen, I dont think we are meant to know. I was raised up, and raised my boys, to believe that they could be anything they wanted to be, that if they 'did unto others as they wanted to be treated', 'what goes around, comes around', etc.,etc......then cold hard reality hits and I wonder if we have equipped our children to handle that? Life is not fair. Bad things happen to good people. You cannot always be what you want to be. I think that needs to be taught too. Sadly. nancy j ---------- No virus found in this outgoing message. Guest guest
, I think that your words are so wise. So much truth and a lot of sense in what you said. Guest guest
Donelle, You're just toooooo funny! Thanks for that. Whatever happens in our lives, we're much better off if we can just maintain a sense of humor. It's better than sitting around crying all the time, isn't it.
