Guest guest
After Sabbath tomorrow night we are zooming off to the airport to catch a plane Israel bound, for Sukkot. We are taking Sara Benzy and the six kids, Zehava (of course) and, Yeshaya's best friend Zevi from across the road. This last was a surprise, as Zevi's parents have steadfastly refused all offers to allow their son to accompany us on the last few trips when Yeshaya begged them to. Maybe this time because the boys are actually separated, and this may be the only chance they get to see each other for several months, they relented. Tavya Dov, Yeshaya and Rafi are moving into our house tomorrow night in advance of our arrival early Sunday morning. It will mean that we are 15 people for each meal *basic* before any visitors are invited, and I know for a fact that we have 5 extra at least, for the first meal over Sukkot. Yeshaya's co students (the ones who aren't going home for the holidays) are busily inviting themselves for various meals, so it will be a real catering establishment chez Ruthie and family! I will endeavour to keep in touch on here as usual, but time will be limited due to the constraints of the festival. No doubt there will be some members who breathe a sigh of relief at hearing that! My smugness at " surviving " Yom Kippur so well, was premature; I suffered greatly with agonising stomach pains last night, which were finally silenced by a bowl of weetabix, warm milk and sugar taken some time around 4 a.m. There followed an agonising episode of leg cramps, and I finally fell asleep at 5 a.m. Got up at 8.20 a.m. feeling a bit fragile but otherwise not too bad. I think if I had taken the weetabix to break my fast, it might have been avoided. Ruthie
