Guest guest
<<<:> I just think that show represents all that is bad about America That is the entire point! That is what the writers set out to do. That is why it is so funny.>>> I am aware that this is the point it is just for me NOT funny and also just another thing about Americanism that is really bad... I just find this a totally horrible show.. I know other people love it but I don't and nothing anyone can say will make me agree that it is a good or funny show.. Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama & expecting a Christmas delivery... My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you start. So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake. I feel better already.

When it first came to the UK, it was entirely marketed at >the wrong age group. Well *was* it? When it was only on cable or whatever (the household I lived in at the time subscribed for the sole purpose of getting the Simpsons!) it seemed to be marketed as 'the first cartoon for adults' and only later did it become a children's thing with all the merchandise etc - I wonder what drove that - just profits or did children take to it all on their own? (BTW there's someone locally who is called Bart Simpson) I dunno - how should we define a children's programme - or even a children's book? (Quentin Blake's Zagazoo comes to mind) I missed the programme (much to my chagrin, but at least it was 'cos we were having a nice time not in front of the TV :-)) so I don't know anything about how they came up with it. Still think it is a shame Jackanory went - my two seem to like stories on TV. -- jennifer@... Vaudin
Guest guest
Not that multi-layered that I get any of the layers. I find this show rude condescending and I won't allow it on in my house at all. (dh knows this and respects my wishes) and I am sure I am going to become one of those really uncool mothers who has a rule that a certain tv programme is not allowed.. I just think that show represents all that is bad about America (I know that they have good things to so please don't think I am saying that they don't the show is just far to American for me and I do not find it humorous at all ) > Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama > & expecting a Christmas delivery... > My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you start. > So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake. It's banned in our house too Lonnie - can't stand it and certainly don't want my children watching it! He is of your religious persuasion, if that interests you, Ruthie. > J I thought there must be some Jewish connections somewhere; the Jewish family are too realistic as are the songs they sing.
