Guest guest
Sunflower We've been debating whether to put Matt on medication for ADHD after the Strattera didn't work out. It's weird after the several days on Strattera, and then stopping, he calmed down a bit. Anyway, we were going to start focalin when I got the prescription the doc sent in the mail. I wanted the teacher's opinion, because she sees him 6 hours a day, and deals with stuff like this, etc. I just got off the phone with her. She said that she has very little problem getting him to sit still when he's supposed to, often for a 1/2 hour at a time in circle. He does as is expected of him, hanging up his backpack, cleaning up toys, etc. She also said she's never, ever, ever, ever, (her evers, not mine) seen a child develop so much so fast. :-) She also thinks that if we all work together, we can get him in a regular kindergarten class when it's time!! She gave me some ideas on how to get him to behave while shopping and being out, etc. Start small, with places he's sure to be able to handle so he can get positive feedback, etc. She also said that if after a week or so of trying, if he's not improving for me, she'd come with me and we could work on it together. Have I mentioned I LOVE this teacher!!!! :-) I'm just SO happy to hear such great things!! Oh yeah, she also said she's got him paired with the highest functioning kids in the room!! ellen --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
