Guest guest
buggy boards (or b***er boards as DD2 calls them) are widely available in JLP and other places -all the catalogues have them too. I gave up with the double buggy quite early on, it was too wide for our pavements, though pretty useful for shopping trips to shopping centre type place s with plenty of space! The girls are 20 months apart and DD1 quite quickly preferred the buggy board on a single umbrella fold, meant she could get on & off if she wanted, (-a right PITA if she was in the double buggy!!) This term I have stopped using it to go up to school as pushing both of them (both over 2 stone! plus buggy plus bump was tooooo much. (and the subtle difference in position makes a whole load of difference to your back when pg!!) I still attach it if we are out on a longer session, or shopping somewhere busy so I can keep easy tabs on her! (she's almost 4 now) DD2 will walk much further than DD1 would have done at the same age. When the baby comes I plan to do the sling/carrier, buggy and DD1 walking. I regret the Britax travel system we bought for DD1 -it's fab for one child -and the carry cot has done ours in the early months for sleeping, but you can't use a buggy board with it (handle in wrong place!) and its very heavy....still it was the best kind of thing then, pushchair design has moved on apace in 4 years!
