Guest guest
UGH! I probably would have been stressed out to. I spent the last week worring that Chris's paycheck was going to be all screwed up and his was the only one that wasn't. Would it make you feel better to know that I seen the animal shaped crackers that you send Putter to school with at the store yesterday and I thought of you and Putter? My lawyer told me that all I had to do was to come down and sign these papers and the divorce would be final probably next week. YAY! > > So yesterday I went to sign the papers and, boo, hiss, there was a place that said I had to use ALL the money from the retirement fund to pay off credit cards and I already spent $3600 paying off a credit card (as some may remember from January/February). But I used my tax refund which was supposed to pay for some important house repairs. > > Yikes! No house repairs! Granted I'd have better credit perhaps, but still...and anyway it seemed unfair as I had paid that money considering it was part of the mediation agreement. My lawyer was not there; it was assumed that I would have no problem signing as we had discussed it all before, but that had been in January when I still hadn't paid for the credit card bill and I expected to pay for it with funds from the retirement account. SO naturally I did not balk at the language. > > Then all these delays came up, Lou being in jail included, and suddenly it looks as if I might have nothing left for house repairs (I am not exactly sure how much money will come from the retirement fund as it is not certain if they will take out the taxes now or later....) My lawyer told me to meet her this morning at 9:30. I feel as if I totally screwed up and got myself into something by basically counting my chickens before they are hatched. I spent yesterday worrying, woke up at 3:30 a.m., worrying, spent all the time before the appointment worrying. > > The appointment took all of fifteen minutes and some of that was chat. She simply added a line that said that I was to reimburse myself first to the tune of $5000 for money applied to credit card debt since mediation. It all seemed incredibly easy and she said she did not think anyone would object. > > So all that worrying for nothing. > > Salli > >
Guest guest
glad things worked out great Salli. I spend lots of time worrying about things that turn out to be easy too.
