Guest guest
Hi Joni, If the depression and anxiety do not last after stopping te DMSA you know it is from the redistribution of the metals. In this case you should try a shorter time period between doses which is alright to do.. So if you are taking it every four hours the maximum allowed , then try every 3 hours. I found that the second and third dose I needed to take early to avoid anxiety. If the depression lasts then you will have to find something to treat this if you cannot stand it. In my case on my first round of DMSA after not having depression for at least 6 years, it came back full force and did not leave. I went back to taking 5HTP which I knew had helped before. I stayed on it for a month or two and now after 8 months of doing more chelation the depression never returned again but for a few fleeting hours. nanci > > I dont get this. Guest guest
Have you tried to take it more often? Each two or each three hours, for example? > > I dont get this. Guest guest
Have you ever tried Saunas? A lot of gyms and YMCA's have them and it may be worth a try to see how you respond. After using the sauna (probably at least a few times) to clear some mercury and other metals/toxins it may be possible to chelate. - > > I dont get this. Guest guest
dear joni, I couldn't tolerate any DMSA for about 5 months. So I went alone with ALA - small doses - 6mg. Then finally I was able to start with 6mg of DMSA, and even then I was going to the loo every 1.5 hours. Now after 9 months I am on 50mg, so don't give up. Its a slow process for many of us who were severley mercury poisoned. I had 10 amalgams for over 30 years. It takes time to recover from that kind of overload. Kind regards

This feels totally hopeless. Have you read the section of Amalgam Illness on adrenal insufficiency? There is more information on adrenals in the links section. Thyroid problems can also cause depression and anxiety. If you have adrenal and/or thyroid problems (and many of us do) it will make a big difference to treat them. I would also suggest reading Andy's comments on depression and how to treat it: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/frequent-dose-chelation/message/15287 -- > Has anyone else had this problem?
