Guest guest
Hi Donelle, I am so curious about your present, since I am just a kid at heart. Please share. By the way, I am glad you didn't have to have any confrontations with the " wifey " . That had to have been tough, holding your tongue. Pat Crain Grandmommyandme@... wrote: Hi everyone... Attaching a photo of my favorite Christmas present, which was of course from Glenn. This is not the norm for Glenn...he always gets me nice presents, but usually something I need....I cried when I opened this...it's something I'll always cherish from him. The visit from Glenn's children and wife-y went well...yes, really!! I was comfortable b/c I was on my turf and in control. I think she was totally uncomfortable. I think she was just plain curious about me and maybe about where Glenn was living. They all chit-chatted, but nothing serious and nothing to do with reality. I felt like I was in the twilight zone... it was totally surreal. They never asked Glenn how he felt...not once in 3 hours. Wife-y has not seen Glenn for 2.5 yrs., he's lost over 100 lbs. and he had to ask her " Do I look different? " ...her response, " Yeah, you're suppose to look younger than me? " " What the h..l kind of answer is that?? Dinner was good...she brought fresh sliced turkey, stuffing and gravy. I made mashed potatoes, corn and pumpkin pies. Was yummy!! Get this...when they were getting ready to leave, they were almost out the door... I wanted to scream!!! I was so furious!!! I counted to ten...and finally said, " Don't you guys think you should hug your Dad goodbye? " No hugs, but they did come back to his chair and say " Bye Dad " ....??????????? Well, I've done all I can do and all I'm gonna do!!! Hope everyone had a great Christmas and celebrated with lots of family, friends and love, making memories to always treasure!! Lots of hugs and prayers, Donelle

Guest guest
Well certainly glad that the visit went well. Maybe they were so shocked by his appearance they just couldn't talk about it or sorta in denial about it, if I don't talk about it isn't true sort of thing. I can't believe that kids didn't think to say good by to their dad much less hug him. That is so sad. I feel for you. As Doug said being a caregiver is hardest job he's ever had. And he is absolutely right about that. You definitely should be home with him for however long it takes. I know the reality of it is there are bills to pay. As he said about working it out.. Hope it does so you can stay with him. Keeping you both in my prayers as always, Hugs Jolene
