Guest guest
While this is totally off-topic, I truly believe it can help those of us struggling who are not yet able to start chelation. You have the idea, Livene. I use a Stress Reduction CD where a hypnotist guides me through very easy process of relaxation. I was skeptical of hypnotism, but now I see I'm totally in control of my mind the entire time. It's so easy with the CD. I urge you to buy the " Recapture Your Health " book by Dr. Stoll. He explains it all so thoroughly and simply. There are so many different methods a person can use. The goal is to achieve the " relaxation response, " (as opposed to the body's " stress response, " which most people never have quite released, causing us to be in a continual mode of " fight or flight, " with all the unconscious total body muscle bracing and clenching that goes along with it when the stress response is not released). You can use an " Active Technique " that you train yourself to do (such as positive affirmations, applied relaxation, breathing techniques, meditation, progressive relaxation, self-hypnosis, thought stopping, Silva Mind Training, Yoga), or you can use a Passive Technique--using something external to get started (Audio tapes or CDs w/soothing muc designed to induce alpha or theta brainwaves, Biofeedback, Guided Imagery, Light goggles, mind machines, or sound and light machines). There are so many choices because people are so different and no single method works for everyone. Here are a couple quotes from the book: p. 40: " Note that the short-term benefits of symptomatic relief are NOT enough to sustain a health CHANGE. It takes the long-term benefits of reversing the condition to actually create health, about six to twelve months into a Skilled Relaxation program. " p. 40: " Skilled Relaxation, along with its other benefits, automatically reverses the buildup of chronic stress-effect and does so at a rate 24 times as fast as normal sleep. SR is an activity that produces a physical relaxation response that occurs when you slow down your brainwaves. When you practice SR, you consciously change the activity of your brainwaves from ordinary waking consciousness (beta brainwave) to relaxed (alpha or theta brainwave). This is not to be confused with sleep (delta brainwave) though. These brainwaves are nothing mysterious, unusual, or new. You can expect to experience helath benefits fairly soon after correctly reaching alpha or theta brainwaves consistently in your sessions. " Later in the same chapter, the author describes in very specific terms just how to tell whether your particular SR method is allowing you to enter these alpha and theta brainwaves. As long as you've gotten into alpha or theta for at least several minutes, you are entering a level of relaxation that allows the nervous system to begin healing from the constant stress response. Again, it needs to be done 20 min., twice daily, consistently.
