I heard that alot of children like these. At 's OT meeting, the OT said he was hyposensitive and craves vestibular (sp?) and that part of a sensory diet, he should have time to get Vestibular activity. (at least this is how I understood it, He hasn't started OT yet because we are on the waiting list) So anyway, I read on another board about these chairs and trampolines. I was thinking of getting one of the little tramps.. Have any of you found them helpful for your children? Guest guest
>>>>>>He hasn't started OT yet because we are on the waiting list)<<<<< You don't have to wait, ! You can do OT yourself! Koosh balls, tramps, bubbles, theraputty, small manipulatives, etc., etc., are just a teeny tiny list of things you can use for OT! There are literally THOUSANDS of things. Jump roaps, bean bags, heavy baskets, on and on and on.... I'm thinking of buying one of those little disks that you stand on and twist for weight loss...I think Jacqui would LOVE that! I don't know why I feel like I have to leave things to the professionals. I think somewhere back in the evil part of my brain, I keep thinking " if I had the skills to help him, he wouldn't have any issues and wouldn't be autistic " (My evil brain apparently has issues Do you know of any good links to OT sites? Warm weather has finally hit Maine so I would have to do some of these things (I could use the excesise too). What is a koosh ball? theraputty and small manipulatives? (sorry I am an accountant, I think way too black and white) Warm Regards & ASD 11/25/00 in Maine RE: Speaking of rocking chairs..Has anyone trying a chair hammock? >>>>>>He hasn't started OT yet because we are on the waiting list)<<<<< You don't have to wait, !
