Actually Tracleer is still the most common treatment for PH and is about

$3000. However, it is covered by most insurance plans and Medicare. The

problem is the Doughnut hole or those without insurance. The

manufacturer does have assistance plans.

Revatio (same as Viagra) is frequently prescribed now. It's cost is

between $900 and $1000 per month and is covered similarly to Tracleer.

Ilaprost in an inhaled product also prescribed.

The stronger treatments are 24/7 IV's through Flolan or Remodulin. Last

I knew Flolan was close to $100,000 per year but probably less now.

However, with insurance and assistance most who need it and choose to

try it are able to get it.

Beth and Bruce, thank you for your always excellent advice. I will discuss this with the lady and accompany her to her doctor if necessary. Once I know what has been prescribed, I can help her with

contacting the appropriate company. Jack79/IPF - UIP/dx06/05 Maine
