The Coast Guard sent me to Hawaii but I had grown up

there and finished High School there earlier. The

racing was much better than the flying but it cost too

much money. The years we raced we went broke every

August. I would like to visit Hawaii again some day

but I hate the long plane ride. The chairs are way

too small for me.

The weather in McKinleyville is just like Hawaii

except it's 20 degrees cooler.

Hey COASTIE!!!

I've been trying to get Glenn to come on this board for months...now that

there is a Coastie here, maybe that will peak his interests....Glenn was a

Chief, Len, and still is...altho, he's been retired for 20 yrs...LOL He did a

lot of Search and Rescue, was an expert Marksman, taught Aids to Navigation and

Maritime Law Enforcement. I didn't know him then, so I don't know all the

details, but I know he was stationed in Governors Island, NY, Alaska, on the

Mississippi somewhere, ville, FL, fort, MI at a lighthouse!!!,

other places I can't recall right this minute and he retired out in 1986. Did

you ever know a Glenn ??

Keep fighting this disease, Len...you know Sailors are TOUGH!!!

The long plane ride is exactly the reason I've never been to Hawaii...I just

can't sit still that long...and I can't sleep on planes, altho I love to fly

EVERYWHERE!!

Lots of hugs and prayers, Donelle

Caregiver to Glenn
