Many use Kirkman's http://www.kirkmanlabs.com/ViewProductDetails@Product_ID@36@Product_Group_ID@1.a\ spx because it is available in convenient 25 mg doses. There are other products that are suitable (please other group members, if you are using a brand of ALA that you like, tell me about it so that I can add it to the links section) It > appears that there are a couple of different types (R-ALA) R-ALA is definitely NOT to be used. There are many posts on the topic (look in the links section, Andy's posts folder) and there > appear to be different quality levels (some brands contain fillers). > Second, has anyone here used the higher levels at Mr. Cutler's range > (50-300 mg of DMSA). We recommend starting at 12.5 mg (see TKs general chelation recommendations in the files section). Andy's book was written some years ago (1999?) and since then many, many people have chelated and found just what you describe below. We recommend starting low just to be on the safe side. Those who can tolerate higher doses will find out soon enough. The range you give above means starting at the lower end of the range and ending (often after years of chelation) at the higher end of the range. In some parts of Andy's book he puts 25 mg as the starting dose. In more recent writings he gives the high end of the dose range as 1/2 mg/lb, and not to go above 1 mg/lb. There is really no reason to go above 1/2 mg/lb with DMSA. I am just curious because the 50 mg has been > wiping me out pretty good. Try a lower dose for the next round. maybe 12.5 or 25 mg. Side effects can creep up on you. Finally, I noticed the second day after > finishing the third round I felt really good.
