Guest guest
Hello, I get kelp from Maine Seacoast Veggies. They test their kelp for contaminants, I believe including metals. If you are into kelp - you might want to check them out. I get a pound of ground kelp for under $20. It lasts more than 6 months. I use it for natural mineral supplementation in soups or just by the spoonful - its an acquired taste - yuck!
Guest guest
I contacted my main supplement supplier, Swanson, about this, and they responded that they don't test their kelp; instead they specify to their vendors that all products meet certain requirements including California's Proposition 65. This sounds rather laissez-faire.... > I just came across this interesting article finding high amounts of Arsenic in 8 out of 9 kelp supplements tested
