Guest guest
> Must be nice to have such a lovely pic of them all together I never > would have known they were wigs - amazing - they look ten times better than > my natural hair does !! There are wigs and wigs, IYKWIM; ) my girls (and I, and most of my contemporaries now...) have become spoilt by what are affectionately known as " customs " ; hand made, European human hair wigs which have turned the wig wearing Jewish public into glamourpusses. (well, those of us who are attractive anyway!). The hair is soft, silky and natural, just like our own hair, and swings and moves just like our own hair too. The awful synthetic wigs I started out wearing when I got married, followed by the half-halfs (half synthetic, half Asian human hair), which still managed to look like straw baskets after a few weeks, even the 100% Aisan human hair wigs had a short lifespan of looking natural and soon clumped up and looked woody.... all these were cheaper but more expensive in the long run, as one had to replace them on average every six months to a year. " Customs " on the other hand, cost between 2 and a half and five times as much as an Asian human hair wig, but last 7-10 times as long. We don't expect to replace a custom in under seven yrs for sure. I have a friend who doesn't have much money, and who owns one custom wig, a curly shortish one. She wears it for weekdays, for sabbaths, every single day. She washes it herself, not something I have dared to do as it involves putting it on a block and being *extremely* careful about not getting the netting and hair tangled. Over the years the colour has faded from her custom until it is completely blonde instead of brown, so this week I was surprised to see it back to brown again, she had dyed it too! Most of us don't do very much DIY with our wigs but allow the skilled wigstylists to care for them. My wig stylist, an extremely camp man called , who wears dazzling bright green jackets and whose orgasmic expression when creating a masterpiece on my head has to be seen to be believed, is one of the best around. Tammy uses too, and Tavya trusts him and no other, to the extent that when her wigs need a wash, she arranges for them to be sent home from Israel and sent back again, with whomever is travelling!
