Guest guest
I just got my results back from hormone blood draw. Recommendations are appreciated! This was done on the 10th day of my mens. cycle, so that's before the characteristic rise in progesterone occurs. I am a pre-menopausal 30 year old female. This was taken around 9am in the morning, after breakfast, without any Isocort, and before I started the Cortef (HC) that I'm now taking. Just today my dr. had me start 20mg of Cortef in divided doses, with the option to slowly ramp up if I feel 20 mg is not enough. In my next app. in 10 days, she'll talk to me about supplementing other hormones. Symptoms: lots of hair loss (from scalp and pubic), very, very low libido, spotting throughout cycle, very short cycles (like 22 days), agonizingly painful periods that make it impossible for me to do anything but roll around the floor like a pitiful glob of jello all day .. . from these I supposed that I would get low hormone results like this. I was right. DHEA-S (serum): 24 ug/dL Progesterone, Serum: <10 (sorry, it's not more specific than that) Testosterone, Serum (Total): 6.0 ng/dL Free T4, Direct, Serum: 1.37 ng/dl TSH: 1.885 uIU/mL Reverse T3: 267 pg/mL Estrogens, Total: 51 pg/mL Ferritin, Serum <1 L ng/mL Antithyroglobulin Ab <20 IU/mL Free T3, Serum: 2.8 pg/mL Thanks!
