My husband is 6'2 and about 300 pounds. I am 5'6 and at the time weighted 130 punds. He had to have a tooth pulled. Well this took place on the third floor of this office. They put him to sleep for this procedure since his roots were growing around the jaw bone. As we were leaving the nurse told me he may be dizzy and may fall so I should be careful and watch. Now please don't get me wrong. I love my husband. But the thought of trying to catch him if he were to fall scared me. I mean he would, could crush me. As we were leaving and in the elevator he did look like this might happen as he was holding on the wall. All I could think of if he falls, I am going to have to get out of the way. LOL I know NOT NICE of me. But come on this could cause major damage to me. Could it not???? Then all i could think of is that if this did happen?? He would not know that I stepped away so he would not land on me. Would he???? I must be a terrible wife!!!! Love, Ingrid ROFLMBO... Ingrid, you are soooo funny!!! Hey listen, I can identify with your story...Glenn use to be 290 lbs. and 6'4 " ...I'm 5'1 " and 1/3 his weight...LOL I would surely move the heck out of the way if I saw him falling!!! I don't think that makes you a terrible wife .... only a smart lady!!! Instinct might be to help him, but let's face it, you couldn't hold him up!!! He absolutely could hurt you if he fell against or on top of you!! I know that for a fact, from how I'm feeling today, just trying to lift and move that heavy weight...and he's only 180 lbs. now. I've got 2 bruises on my arm and a knot...have no idea what I did to get these. And my whole body is stiff and sore and achy all over, esp. my lower back and neck. Much worse today than yesterday!! I've rested most of today...took Arlene to the airport this morning...came home and crashed on the sofa. Glenn's been sleeping alllllll day long today. Woke him for dinner and he ate and went right back to sleep.... still snoozing. Lots of hugs and prayers, Donelle Caregiver to Glenn
Guest guest
Donelle, I hope your soreness feels better quick. So sorry you had to go through that. I know you worry about Glenn sleeping so much. But, Do know that when he sleeps he has no worries and no pain. He is comfortable. Praying hard for him and for you who have been going through so much. Guest guest
Donelle, Is it not something how we make the house look more like Christmas with all the extra clutter and dust collectors. LOL I mean look at how we mix all those bright colors. We decorated last week and all I think about is all the stuff I will have to put back away in a few weeks. LOL Love, Ingrid > > > In a message dated 12/9/2005 8:13:28 PM Eastern Standard Time, > lowenco@h... writes: > > Donelle, I hope your soreness feels better quick. Guest guest
Hey, Donelle, Very cool about the little tree. It's not just for Glenn, it's for you too. And what's Christmas without a little clutter from a tree?? I have to agree with the sleeping, at least he's not in pain or uncomfortable. Talk to even if he's asleep, it might make you feel better and you never know what he might be hearing subconsciously. I talk to my dogs even though I know they can't understand and for sure can't answer me back...good thing sometimes too...lol.
