Guest guest
Hi Ted,I have no idea what happened to you but I had a very similar experience and do not get a lot of 'input' from the medical community. One week I was fine, playing singles tennis, running down lots of balls, running up the stairs when the phone rings etc. I got a little 'cold' or so I thought for only a couple days and never was the same. I did regain a lot of my stamina slowly (very slowly over 5 - 6 months) and feel more or less like I got back to where I was before the 'incident'. Recently I put a bunch of data together and 'suspect' that maybe I aspirated some vomit into my lungs just before that horrible episode where I felt like I fell off a cliff (health wise).Take it easy and take care of yourself and hopefully you can at the very least stop any further progression of the disease. This group has been extremely helpful to me so ask away. I can't believe the knowledge everyone here has that can be so helpful in coping.Keep us posted and I'll keep you in my prayers.Peggy E. (53 y.o. ILD 2008, GERD 2009)Subject: Idiopathic Pulmonary FibrosisTo: Breathe-Support Date: Monday, June 29, 2009, 5:18 PM Hello to all, I'm new so I"m not sure I'm in the right place. I'm a 78 year old guy who had a Cardiac stent implanted on March 16, 2009. Recovery didn't go as expected; tests followed with CT scan that showed Pulmonary Fibrosis. Prior I was healthy. Cut my own grass, worked my large perennial garden, volunteered at hospital transporting patients in their wheel chairs and because my wife has Alxheimer's disease I cook and clean the house. Only medication was for Hypertension. Had no other issues. Today I'm use Oxygen to function; fatigued and dependent on my children for many of things I used to do for myself. I'm wondering if any of you have had a similair experience. The doctors say that the stent implant couldn't cause Pulmonary Fibrosis. That I understand but what aggravated it?. I suspect it may be Plavix, the blood thinner med that I given as soons as I arrived in the ER and have been taking ever since. I'd apprecaite your imput. Thanks.
