  • 3 weeks later...

I understand that Donelle. I am trying to stay tough but these last 5

chemo treatments have made me sicker than the others. I had 7 weeks

on the pump and 12 weekly treatments (1 more tomorrow) These last few

have been the hardest. This is the reason I haven't posted lately. I

appreciate you all. My doctor explained it like this, a marathon

runner says the 23rd mile is the hardest and he says I am on my 23rd

mile. He said for me to do whatever it takes to get through these

last ones. He has been right about these being the hardest. I have

been taking more pain pills and more nausea medication in the last 3

weeks. But I know it will be over soon. Thanks for your thoughts and

concern.

Hi, Sandy. I read that you are having a tough time. My husband hates to take

pills, too. But the doctor says it is what you need. I am praying for you and

all the people here. I am praying for all people who are sick around the world,

especially those with cancer.

There has been discussion on this group in the past about staying positive.

For those who are the caregivers, it seems we don't really know what it is like

to be the patient who is having the treatments. But it is tough for us, in

different ways. We agonize over what our loved ones are going through. My

husband had a rough time, but he tried to stay positive. The way Sam described

it to me is that, everyone with cancer has a ladder. If you stay positive, you

climb higher into the fresh air and sunshine. If you get depressed, you begin

climbing down into a dark well. Nobody should go there. Hope you are feeling

better very soon. Praying for it.

Happy New Year to all~

I am still a little nauseous.
