There were periods of time when I was chelating continuously with low dose DMPS, kept chelating during illness (which is not a good idea in general, but was determined to be best at that time for me), and was taking antibiotics for the illness. I can't recall which antibiotic, probably a penicillin related one. I took Flagyl once as well, and I think I kept chelating through that too (I'll have to think about it a while to remember for sure). > The situation in my case is little bit more specific: Lyme Disease AND > antibiotics AND very low-dose chelation. > ****The type of antibiotic might make a difference. There is one antibiotic that does give people problems (not because it does anything to the mercury, there are other reasons that I can't recall), but I can't recall the name. Jackie was on it once. ----------The one that gave me trouble was Levaquin. It is a flouroquinolone antibiotic. I believe somebody explained to me once that there are four major categories of antibiotics, and these flouroquinolones are the newest. Cipro is also in that category. I'm sure there are others. There's even a Yahoo group dedicated to people who have been harmed by these. They call themselves floxies. If you search archives of these chelation groups using onibasu, you should find some posts about this. I remember somebody giving some links, and I remember " ARCTIC CAT " posting about it too. Anyway, this was two years ago, and the first round of Levaquin, I seemed fine. But then I was given a second round about 6 weeks later, and that's the one that got me. You should find posts by me in archives about this with all the details. But basically, it *felt* like a huge mercury redistribution, and I went downhill after that with a huge regression, and honestly, I don't know if I have ever felt the same since. I had asked Andy, but as far as he knew, it is not a chelator. So I really don't know what happened to me, but it certainly derailed me. In the floxie yahoo group, I think they said it just basically takes time for the effects to wear off, and that they hadn't found any supps to help. So I haven't followed them, and I just keep chelating. And I believe they said the effects are cumulative, and everyone is different, so some react to the first dose, and some takes more doses, like me, before having trouble. Now, I have used other antibiotics, and haven't had problems, even since this incident. I try to avoid antibiotics, but I had surgery last December, so had to have some. Sorry, I don't remember the name of what they gave me, it was IV, and I was fine, I just tell everyone *No Levaquin*!!----------Jackie ****For the specific case of Lyme, it would be best to ask Andy (with the details of which antibiotic, dose, and duration of treatment plus basis for the lyme diagnosis). The group owner, , also has been collecting information about Lyme (I think he had it himself?), and some of the information can be found at www.lymebook.com -----------Yes, was gone by the time I joined, but that is my understanding is that he chelated mercury first, and then addressed lyme, and has even written book(s) about Lyme Disease. I think Andy even sells 's books on his website too, so I would check those out.----------Jackie **** J > Be well, > djur1 >

I know discussion group about fluoroquinolones toxicity. For me it stays unclear why some people have bad reactions to it. Maybe some of these bad reactions are due to triggering dormant infections and releasing bacterial toxins? (but on the other hand other antibiotics in your case were tolerated well). Hard to say... Even more strange is that first round with Levaquin was OK. Just curious: 1. Did you chelate while on both courses of Levaquin or shortly after? 2. What was the dosage of Levaquin and for how many days? 3. What were the regression symptoms after 2nd round with Levaquin? Thank's, djur1
