Guest guest
I haven't had yeast problems myself. The person I remember who did, and who found how to control symptoms during chelation is . If he doesn't respond, try emailing him direct (search for in the group search engine to find one of his posts, and there will be a place to click on to send him an email). The specific carbohydrate diet contains readily absorbed foods so that the body and desired organisms are nourished, and the undesirable microbes are starved. Initially, a person must stay on the beginner diet (mostly chicken soup, cooked carrots, SCD yogurt, then introduce cooked meats and vegetables) until symptoms start to resolve. You would need to modify the diet to delete sulfur foods because sulfur feeds yeast. As you add foods you would need to avoid those that are high sugar (for example honey is SCD legal, but would need to be avoided until the yeast is under control). You could try making the SCD yogurt. It is a great source of probiotics. I make it from goat's milk but you could make it from almond milk or coconut milk to decrease the amount of sulfur. Guest guest
Is Nystatin the only prescription antifungal you've tried? I struggled hard with yeast and tried every otc remedy and also found that the parasite cleanse was the only thing that produced any kind of result. Until I went to the doc and got a prescription for Diflucan (fluconazole). I took a five-day round of Diflucan that was pretty rough on my liver (I could feel it aching and was low-energy and generally felt crummy) but by God, it knocked that yeast back! So just in case you haven't looked into it, not all prescription antifungals are created equal. Nystatin is considered pretty mild and is often recommended as a maintenance treatment after yeast has been knocked back by a short-term dose of something more powerful. Good luck! Guest guest
Hi , Sorry to hear about your yeast problems. They are well beyond my personal experience fighting yeast since apparently I only suffered from yeast in the gut. Normally chelation should go on along with fighting yeast problems, but your case seems to suggest stopping chelation at all until you can stop somewhat the awful yeast flareup. Could you please tell us what supplements are you taking? I really do hope you are not taking ALL that is suggested in Andy's book! Also, what are you eating exactly? I think is very right pointing out to Andy's file about yeast. You need something boosting your immune system. I think she is also right pointing out the need of a strict diet to control yeast. What worked well for me was a low sulfur diet together with a strict avoidance of anything having simple sugars (sweet things -even fruit-, dairy products...) or yeast (like bread). Basically I ate lettuce, tomatoes, chicken and brown rice or potatoes. Some people would say that even brown rice and potatoes are not a good idea, but it worked well for me. I also tried a number of antifungals, but somehow managed to avoid things very rough for the liver. I used (and I am still on) 1.500.000 I.U. of nystatin (sometimes even more) three/four times per day. Adding some other non-Rx antifungals to this probably is also a good idea. Beware about things like garlic, since it is very high in thiols and would break down the magic of the low-sulfur diet. Beware also of things slowing down too much your liver phase 1, like GSE. If your stools become too discolored, stop them because of the lack of bile. Probiotics are very important. You should find some brand that you can take. I don't understand how can probiotics flare up your yeast problems! They are an important tool to control yeast on the long term. Are you sure it is not a problem with lactose? If all this fails -or is failing already- then probably Aine is right and I would then try some other stronger Rx antifungals, like fluconazole. Maybe you need something like that right now, I don't know. The low-sulfur diet should not be maintained indefinitely, unless you are one of those with elevated plasma cysteine. Now I eat sulfur foods without problem. However, I cannot eat nothing sweet, not even an apple. When I do it I find myself extremely tired the day after. Hope something of this may help you. Good luck! > Hi, im having really bad problems with yeast it makes no difference if > im chelating or taking a break it seems to be just as bad. > > I have a really white coating on tonuge, im reduced to eating salad's > (so a totally yeast free diet) and i sometimes i get yeast infection of > the penis. > > I've tried every anti funal possible with no die off whatsoever, > currently im taking GSE and nystatin for yeast with no effect tbh.
