Guest guest
OMG!!!! What a hell night! Background information then questions - i hope you all can share some insights and feedback. I completed round five last night with a 10 PM dose of 12.5 mg DMPS. Round one I tried 3 days on, seven days off. I felt really great with no side effects whatsoever. The next two rounds I tried seven days on seven off. I began to notice some side effects which I described in earlier post - mostly inflammation issues. For rounds four and five I switched to a schedule of five on, five off so that the schedule of " on " and " off " days would change week to week. During these last two rounds I began to notice some gastric discomfort (heartburn - very uncommon for me)and much more urgency and frequency with bladder and bowels. I am sensing that I've got a pretty active yeast overgrowth going on but I am not sure that it is related to the above issues. I know that Andy has repeated on more than one occasion that DMPS does NOT cause broad spectrum mineral depletion like EDTA for example, but towards the end of my rounds my bowels certainly behave as if I am dosing regularly with Epsom salts - which could indicate a CAL/MAG imbalance. Has anyone else experienced similar? I get relief of symptons when when I drink way more water than I would characterize as normal for me. Of course, then I am running for the rest room every 60-90 minutes. Now, about last night. Dinner at 8:30 was whole grain DeBoles pasta with a tomato sauce, including wheat meat (we are lacto/ovo vegetarians)and a healthy dose of fresh oregano from the garden and a side of steamed brocoli. I also had what for me was a large glass of red wine (about 4 oz). I felt really hammered by fatigue immediately afterwards. I had ridden bike around 6PM for 3-4 miles and by 9:30 I felt an unusual amount of stiffness/inflammation in my quads. I was in bed at 10 PM which is when I took my last dose of DMPS (6AM/2PM/10PM schedule). I woke shortly after midnight with a deep aching, cramp in my right shoulder, in the upper latissmus, near the neck. My quad muscles also felt unusually inflammed and if I even began to stretch any sore muscles, they began to cramp. The right shoulder is the site of a work-related overuse injury so soreness and stiffness there is not uncommon. What was uncommon was the degree of discomfort and nerve involvement. It was as if a deep burning ache in my shoulder was pulsing up nerve pathways throughout my body but especially to my stomach and brain. The pain was not so much sharp, but deep and pervasive, so much so that it made me nauseous at times. I could not find a comfortable prone position, and my physical discomfort was mirrored by waves of psycological discomfort - panic and anxiety. I took a hot shower to try and relieve the muscle tension, used a trans-dermal analgesic pad (which seemed to make things worse not better). Tried to sleep, could not. Took a hot salt bath (sea salts, baking soda); gobbled a days worth of minerals (Krebs cycle chelates)with organic plain yogurt, tried to read - but really couldn't focus. Around 2:30 AM I started having bowel movements. There have been five since, each one looser than the one before. I did doze off around 5 AM. Symptoms began to recede right around 6AM. Has anyone using DMPS experienced anything like this before? I think the cramping, spasming in the shoulder may have caused acute irritation along the path of the cranial nerve CN XI which runs all the way down to the stomach and up into the brain. It was pretty scary. I have noted the signs of a persistent low grade yeast overgrowth this last round (itchy feet, irritation in urinary tract, disbyosis) perhaps there was a severe yeast overgrowth fueled by dropping a dose of dmps into 4oz of red wine? Could this have caused the symptoms above? Feeling better now, just residual stiffness. Took some more minerals with emphasis on zinc to offset any potential copper imbalance. I searched for posts on copper metabolism and DMPS. Can anyone post a a direct link regarding this? I would like to note that in general, my first five rounds have been a success by my standards. Up until last night, the side effects could would most accurately be described as minor irritants, which diminish between rounds. And the benefit has been that nearly complete absence of the chronic psychological symptoms I have been battling for six/seven years. Any and all feedback appreciated.
