Guest guest
Thanks. I dabbled in chelation very briefly in 2004. I started with DMSA at 100 mg (per the book) and immediately got a migraine. Twenty five mg worked fine and I actually felt a bit better on round and off (did around 4 if I recall correctly). So I don't know if it's the DMPS or just too much and not enough frequency. I'm going to ask to cut way back and also for more frequency and maybe fewer days per round. I can always scale back up as symptoms permit. I want to get better but need to be able to function along the way. Besides, I'm guessing that enduring too many side effects is hard on the adrenals. I'm taking some HC and Armour. So far, those haven't made much of a difference with symptoms of chronic fatigue. As far as supplements - I think I'm fine there. I'm taking lots. Some stuff I can't tolerate, apparently because of liver pathway issues (don't do well with lots of multi-Bs, and don't tolerate any liver herbs). My liver pain is gone as long as I avoid most phenols, salicylates, and sulfur. All the liver herbs bring back liver pain. MolyB made me feel worse. Several things either make me feel worse or seriously disturb sleep (which of course makes me feel worse). It's a balancing act. Dana _____ From: frequent-dose-chelation [mailto:frequent-dose-chelation ] On Behalf Of beigetable The frequency may well be an issue. I need more frequent dosing than most people, and with DMPS by itself, I wound up on a 3 hour schedule to keep side effects down. Most people apparently don't need to go that frequent, but a lot of people seem to need tighter than 8 hours. A week on may be too much for you; it is for a lot of people. I've been able to do rounds of about 4.5 days before side effects creep up. If your supplement regimen isn't what it should be, side effects can be much worse. My side effects went down drastically after I went through Cutler's list of recommened non-Rx supplements and made sure I had all of the ones that seemed reasonable, in the recommended doses. Molybdenum, for example, makes a huge difference for me. Some people feel better on DMPS than DMSA, but the opposite is true for others, including me. However, yeast is an issue with DMSA; I need lots of anti-yeast supplements to avoid yeast.
