Yes, I own two. One I brought initially locally before ordering online.

I'm thinking of buying a third one now that prices are where they are. I

don't use one I own much but the third one I might keep in my van in

case I ever forgot one. Also, while I love my Nonin, it is lousy in

sunlight and some of the others are better there. Last, my Nonin is

getting pretty beaten and battered. I always carry it with me and its

landed on the ground by now at least 100 times, probably more. I'm

interested in the new less expensive Nonin, especially since I was part

of the interview group in the design phase.

i am looking at the nonin $99 too

the one i have can be moody when out of the house

yes this sunlight is terrible -- especially when when walking the dog and checking my sat -- should i turn up the lpm's or are they ok?

my nonin 9500 is a couple of years old

tried the clean eraser -- worked for awhile

changed batteries -- didn't work

called company -- they told me to use alcolhol on a swab -- that worked -- (alcohol on the contacts)

they said no pencil erasers

so thinking about 2nd one to use as a back up or when i leave the house

concerned that 9500 may have to go in for a "check up"

also found out that the check up would cost $150

Well, I was going to get one of the Choice units I started everyone here

buying, but now that nonin $99 has my attention. I figure one of these

times I'm going to drop mine once too many. I've had to put it back

together from the spring coming off so many times its easy now. I can't

imagine the new one lasting like it but can also get 2 1/2 of them for

the same price and they look cool to me. When they interviewed me I told

them repeatedly two things I felt had to be addressed. One was price and

the other was visibility in sunlight. They kept asking design and

aesthetic questions and I kept reminding them that those were the issues

really important to me. I'm sure my input meant very little in the

scheme of things but perhaps others said much the same or they just

realized. Where it bothers me most is getting out of the van and going

into a store or leaving the store and walking back out. In both cases

you're changing speed and conditions. Still, anything that small to take

the abuse I've given it deserves lots of praise.
