Now that you can tolerate ala you can hopefully expect more dramatic healing. Did you use any dmps with your ala round? Sounds like even though your adrenals are still weak, it was mainly the body burden of mercury that was delaying using ala, right? Do you think even with my weak thryoid/adrenal status it would be ok to just chelate with dmps or dmsa? Thanks, VAl

I have been using DMPS continuously, 25 mg every 6 h for about 3 weeks, and am still taking it. There are periods of time when I take breaks from the DMPS, but every time I find that I feel way worse without it and can hardly wait to get started again. Every 6 h makes it easy to take continuously (I take a dose at 12 midnight or 1 am, and then at 7 am). Sounds like even though > your adrenals are still weak, it was mainly the body burden of mercury > that was delaying using ala, right? > That's part of it. When I first started chelation I could only tolerate 5 mg ALA, and could barely make it through a round. The other part is that it is near impossible for me to wake up at night. When I tried ALA rounds I had several alarms going off (which bothered other family members), I had no memory of whatever I did in the middle of the night, and would wake up finding pills in the bed and on the floor and not even know which were which and what had happened. It was crazy. This time I nap in the evening, take a dose at 12 or 1, have 2 alarms that go off at 3 and 4 am PLUS my son wakes me somewhere around 3 and 7 am. It is a team effort. (My teens are used to being awake at 3 am and sleeping all morning). I also have the DMPS in one container, the ALA in another container, and my medications in another container, all with times marked on the slots, so that if I screw up I have a good idea which pills I missed. (If I miss the middle of the night ALA, and then take the 7 am ALA by mistake, it's not a good thing). > Do you think even with my weak thryoid/adrenal status it would be ok > to just chelate with dmps or dmsa? > I think that it would be ok as long as you use doses that are low enough that you don't get much in the way of side effects. I can't remember if you are unable to get cortisol and thyroid hormone. Those would sure help if you could find a doctor to write the prescriptions.
