Hi Dave,

Thank you for the information. I am going to order the hair test. A

year ago, I had a " Urine Toxic Metals " test from Doctor's Data and it

indicated a very elevated mercury level. This is common with people

with Lyme Disease. This test uses DMSA as a provoking agent. Are

urine tests useful? Do you think it is ok to start the protocol prior

to a hair test? I would start with very small amounts of DMSA.

Probably around 7 mgs for 3 days on 4 days off. Does this make sense?

Thanks, Mark

No.

DMSA is a chelator, so most people will end up with mercury in the

urine when given a chelator. The test doesn't tell you anything that

will help you with any treatment decision. It does keep cash flowing

for your doctor's office, and gives him a piece of paper with false

evidence to use if someone wants to sue him for malpractice (lawyers

don't know that the test is next to meaningless).

Do you think it is ok to start the protocol prior

> to a hair test?

Yes, as long as you read enough that you understand how to chelate

properly. I believe that Andy has said a month on supplements should

be enough to start chelating (with low doses, on his protocol).

I would start with very small amounts of DMSA.

Yes. 12.5 mg (see TKs recommendations in the files section) would

likely be fine.
