Guest guest
Just to chime in here, , I've more or less had to discover what works for my by trial and error. I also have been supported by Dr. Peatfield, a private doctor who specialises in metabolic illness. He and Val both say to take what the body seems to need. I'm keeping an eye on my temperature and monitoring my symptoms. I did actually start out on the alt med road by joining another Yahoo group for people withdrawing from psychotropic meds. That group advocates diet and supplements as the approach to wellness. I lingered for quite a while, doing the best I could with that and wondering why I wasn't getting any better. While the people who run these lists often have a lot of experience and skill, you are right about taking responsibility for one's own health and not handing too much of it over to anyone else, even a supposed expert. I wish I didn't seem to need so much HC, but it's my judgement based on what seems to be necessary. I've tried lower dosages and I've had low cortisol symptoms. Ultimately, though, I do want to come off this drug completely and I hope I can. Your warning is a very sensible one because steroids are powerful and it can be hard to get the balance right. I don't think I'll ever be completely sure on that count, and needs change from day to day. .
