Guest guest
WOW Beverley! What a trip, indeed! I'm so glad you are okay and you and Bob didn't get hurt. You are one brave lady! How is the boat? Where are you staying while you are here?Your doctor sounds good and taking pro-active steps to treat your condition and other health concerns. Congrats on your referral to UWMC; let me know when and I would still like to go with you. Someday when I learn to do fonts I may try it. Before I tell you about my new doctor I have to tell you about my exciting trip. Walt, if you had your Marine radio on during the storm you may have heard my rescue. I was the old lady with the oxygen. I was sick for a week before I left. I thought I was better so I went. I slept and had a fever from the time we left home. The first night that we got anchored out we woke up to a big storm. We decided to get out of there. One boat stayed behind and the guy helped pull up the anchor while Bob took the tiller. Normally the tiller would have been my job but the storm was so bad Bob could barely handle it. Anyhow as soon as the anchor came out of the water the engine died and we drifted aground. The boat was on it's side but it wasn't taking on water. A lot of spray was coming over the side though. I got drenched. The guy who was helping got another anchor attached to the side to try to keep us from rolling over. Then he had to go back to his wife who was alone on their boat. Bob called for rescue assist. He told them that I was on oxygen and needed to be evacuated. I didn't want to go but I went below and got dry clothes on. We had to wait awhile for rescue because others were others in worse shape than we were. One woman was screaming that they were in the water and please help. As soon as they could this small boat came to take me off. They shouldn't even have been out in that storm. They are my heroes. They got me wet again getting me to shore. They put me in an ambulance and asked me if I wanted to go to the hospital or somewhere else. I told them since I was sick they might as well take me to the hospital. When I got to the hospital they found out I had a badly inflamed pancreas so they admitted me. It was caused from the Imuran that I was put on recently so I can't take that anymore. I stayed there for 3 days then they released me so I could make my appointment with my new doctor today.I like the doctor. I think he gave me good news and bad news. He said that sometimes if people are really bad the medicine doesn't help them. Since I am having all of the bad side effects from the Prednisone he is going to wean me off from it. If I get worse he will put me back on it. He has also ordered a high res CT scan. He isn't taking the other doctor's word for much. He is checking on his own. So I should get over the diabetes and maybe lose the weight. It seems like that alone shoulld help me breathe. I have over 300 posts and I am exhausted. I think I will have to gomto bed soon.Beverley Joy,71, UIP,NSIP 1-09,Diabetes, Sjogren's, Fibromyalgia IdahoFrom: jerryb888 <jerryb888 (AT) yahoo (DOT) com>Subject: Beverley JoyTo: Breathe-Support@ yahoogroups. comDate: Tuesday, September 8, 2009, 8:54 PM Hello Beverley Joy,Am I right thinking you have an appointment with your new pulmonologist tomorrow the 9th? I hope all goes well with your first visit and that you will find a friendly, knowledgeable lung man. But you know if you aren't happy, there are other qualified doctors near you. Take care of yourself and I'll be looking to hear some news. As i'll be traveling down to tomorrow for the Celtic Fest, I may not have access to a computer link as often as here, but I'll check in when I can and see if you have posted. Take care. Oh yes, notice I typed in blue like Mamasher? Since we are going to use blue for our color, I may start emailing to everyone in blue all the time. Hello , they released me from the hospital over there just in time to get here for my appointment with my new doctor. The boat has some damage but it was towed back to the slip and Bob was able to stay on it while I was in the hospital. He has a son in Anacortes so he would have been alright. I still want you to go with me to UWMC. I thought about calling you when I was in the hospital but I just wanted to sleep. I went to my personal care doctor yesterday. She did blood tests and her nurse called me today and said that my enzymes are still high so I still have the Pancreatitis. I am still tired. I hope that I can sleep good and wake up feeling better tomorrow. My son is coming to visit tomorrow. I hope he's prepared to take care of himself because I can barely take care of me. I have to stay hydrated but I should be better soon. I have an appointment next Wednesday with my cardiologist to have an echocardiogram. I've never had one.Beverley Joy,71, UIP,NSIP 1-09,Diabetes, Sjogren's, Fibromyalgia IdahoFrom: jerryb888 <jerryb888 (AT) yahoo (DOT) com>Subject: Beverley JoyTo: Breathe-Support@ yahoogroups. comDate: Tuesday, September 8, 2009, 8:54 PM Hello Beverley Joy,Am I right thinking you have an appointment with your new pulmonologist tomorrow the 9th?
