I don't have much time to get on messenger so if anyone could semail me I would greatly appreciate it. My main concern is what is the statics of success, meaning what is the death rate and the success rate.
Guest guest
Pat No I didn't have the colostomy or illeostomy.. Lucky I guess. But had one awful attack of diarrhea during chemo when wbc and potassium were way low. It was miserable. I never did get depends but borrowed granddaughters pads, and put towels under me. I took Imodium and finally it helped. So far have been okay but do notice if I go overboard on veggies that I have to be careful - it will surprise me. Since I am off chemo have more trouble with constipation. I drink a lot of water, almost no soda. some ice tea when I make it (always caffeinated). Why drink it if I can't get my caffeine. I don't over due the caffeine but feel it does give me some boost throughout the day. I drink really weak instant coffee and is warmish to cold (not iced).. I am surprised that docs are not supporting the BRAT as much any more especially how worried they are that child will dehydrate so fast. Why subject a child to numerous bouts of diarrhea? That make no sense, their poor little butts would be so sore.. No I couldn't do that. As my children grew up I treated them the way my mom treated me, and with common sense. I seldom took them to the doc unless they had fevers. It was such a pain to go to military hospitals when they were little. Well I sure hope that you can find a happy medium with food and elimination so it is easier to live with. I know how miserable I was when I had diarrhea. Take care Jolene _____
