Guest guest
Thanks for the memories, Mango Man. It did bring back my memory of the Beetles arrival in NYC. At the time I was working for the Port Authority in its aviation department as a community liaison person. There were huge crowds of teenage girls at the airport packed on the balconies of the largest terminal. Their jumping up and down had the building shaking so much that the engineers were afraid of a collapse. To avoid the crowd of excited teen girls from causing a calamity, we decided to deplane the Beetles two or three miles away on the tarmac. The girls were so disappointed I thought they might tear the building apart. I didn't go to Woodstock. I saw a documentary on it last night and for the first time I was glad I didn't.
