Yes, your test meets two of the counting rules for deranged mineral transport----5 in the red zone, and only 10 in the middle white and green. So these are in addition to the hair also showing high mercury. You definitely have mercury! > * What do the ratios say about the functioning of my endocrine > glands, etc? The calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium pattern indicates problems with the adrenals, as in Andy's Hair Test Interpretation book. > * Are there any supplements that would be particularly useful for me > to take, based on these test results? Besides the basic supplements mentioned in Andy's book (and in the files for this group), and since you live in Seattle (as do I), I'd highly recommend you arrange a visit to . She's a nurse practitioner (ARNP) in privqate practice and is very knowledgeable about all this stuff and more. Contact info is in the links. I'm sure others who are more experienced than I am will have answers to your other questions. Alice
Guest guest
Alice answered most of your questions. I'll just add a couple of things. Seeing as you are doing ok with 25 mg DMSA, I would continue with that. Lower to 12.5 mg if you are having problems. You can do some rounds DMSA only to see how it goes. I am assuming that it has been at least 3 months since all amalgam was removed? because Cutler recommends not using ALA until after that 3 month period. It is ok for you to use ALA, but with the adrenal problem, I would use _very_ low doses for now (6.25 mg) so as not to put too much stress on your adrenals. With the adrenal pattern on your test you need to do something about that. Start with the diet, lifestyle, OTC supplements as recommended in Cutler's AI book. Chromium picolinate with meals will likely help with blood sugar regulation (as will diet modification). Since writing AI, Cutler recommends using LOTS of adrenal cortex extract. See posts in archives. There are also other supplements that help, with particular emphasis on vit C and B vitamins. Other than the need for adrenal supplements, there is no other supplement that I can see you need from your test. You will need all the basics, plus add supplements for symptoms as determined from the supplement section of AI. As Alice says, a visit with would be very beneficial. www.npjulie.com The adrenal problem really indicates that you do need to see her for advise with that. You may decide that it would be good to chelate with DMPS for a while (prescription only). DMPS will chelate out the arsenic. With the 8 h dosing it is very good for clearing body burden in preparation for ALA. J > > Hi, > > I just got my hair test results posted at > http://www.livingnetwork.co.za/files/hairtest_214.pdf .
