My dad was on Avastin/Xeloda for a year (15 cycles) when the protein level in his urine was too high (3+), a clear sign of kidney problems. They stopped his chemo regimen in May to give his kidneys a break. Instead, they put him on radiation treatments (daily for 4 weeks) in Sept. It seems to be working since scans showed decrease tumor size in lung and abdomen. My dad did not have any kidney procedures done. Sometimes, giving the body a break does wonders... Love and hugs, Nickie Wonderful, Nickie...that Dad's tumors are reducing in size!! Way to go, Dad!!!
