I have been chelating now FDC starting out with lower doses

since Jan 08. I had started a few years ago with higher

doses and knew they were too high. I had to stop and find

some supports for my kidneys as they were so bad.

I seemed to do well with initial rounds.. Starting at just

DMSA for a couple of months..building to 25 mg . did well as

I have high lead as well. THen went up to adding ALA at 12

mg. I was not having any negative side affects. I increased

after four rounds to 25/25 , did alright. Then 50DMSA/25ALA .

I did then jump to 100ALA /50 DMSA =no side affects for the

first two , then a crisis.. with my liver.

---------It sounds like you are ramping up your dosages of chelators too fast.

Andy suggests only increasing by 50%, and you should only increase one chelator

at a time. He has also said to find a comfortable dose, and stick with it for a

long time. And as TK often said, side effects can sneak up on you after a few

rounds, you don't always notice them immediately, and that sounds like what is

happening to you. Too much chelator is moving too many metals, and your liver

can't keep up.---------Jackie

I backed down to 50/50 , but feel now that I need to back

down even further.. I am wondering whether to go back to

just DMSA as my symptoms in my liver are the worst they

have ever been.. My liver is hurting , --without having

lots of NAC it hurts. MY hormones are worse ,with return of

hot flashes.

---------You could take a short break from chelation, and see if that helps,

or maybe drop down to just 25mg of DMSA only for awhile.--------Jackie

ALA takes the mercury through the liver so might it be better

to just take DMSA for awhile , hopefully lower the mercury .

lead? levels in my liver?? OR is it good to push on and

just get rid of the stuff...

---------There is nothing wrong with taking a break from ALA chelation. Many

others have had to do this. Some rounds of DMSA only might help, especially if

you have lead also.-----------Jackie

MY gut says do a few rounds of just DMSA and at least

see if my liver improves. .. I am not at the point where I am

going to die now , so I do not need to stress so much about

getting rid of the ALA from my brain.. I know no one can

tell me the right thing to say and in fact feeling I have the

strength to to sit back in a semi relaxed state to weigh

my decision on my own makes me realize how far I have

come . Just need to share I guess..

---------I agree with your gut feeling to do some rounds of DMSA only, but at

a reasonable dose, maybe 25mg, and see how you do.--------Jackie

I have found effects and I think AI or other forum experts have said

this with ALA, that problems can sneak up on you and it is very

unforgiving In my experience

maybe you jumped dosages too quickly (25 to 100mgs) and the

cumulative effect just caught u. I blew up my tolerance for ALA for

almost a month by not taking molybedum and taking zinc with my

dosage (OK i was CC-continously chelating with IT which AI says u

should not do)

BUT whatever it was messed me up for a month..but now i have gone

from 50-75 without anything serious going on

my vote would be to layoff the ALA for a few weeks, its is a very

powerful detoxer

PS If you have the energy to worry about spell check you are doing

OK :)
