Guest guest
Thanks for the response. I need to get back on milk thistle, been thinking about that recently. Will do that. The rig I bought is a 2001. It's had a lot of time to off-gas. I won't even walk in a new rig. They absolutely poisonous. It's a nice rig, but nice and old. I'm really confused about the pectin thing. It's detoxifying properties are known, as is it's affinity for mercury (here are just the hits received on apple pectin alone: http://search.yahoo.com/search?ei=UTF-8 & fr=yfp-t- 501 & p=apple+pectin+mercury & rs=1 & fr2=rs-bottom) People in the on line mercury community were telling me to take pectin when I first realized I was toxic 10 years ago. If we need to avoid the 1 mg of ALA in Emergen-C (I've seen that and wondered what kind of effect that might have, but didn't see that much of a difference when I was taking it, but I think I'm going to stay of it from now on) why aren't we factoring in other things that move mercury around? Seems to me any food containing pectin would be as great a concern as the cilantro. They all have the same effect on me. I think the fruit takes longer to mess me up because it contains so much C, but by day seven I'm starting to crash and burn in a big way and maybe that's why others aren't aware it's a factor. It was the last discovery I've made, I didn't put that together until this last December. Cilantro -- I avoid it for all I'm worth. Just a few flecks of that stuff messes me up. That story in the files about the guy who at a whole bunch of it in one sitting? Aighhhhhh... I'd like to combine what I already know with Andy's protocol. I agree that using food as a chelator isn't the way to go. But knowning what those foods are now and avoiding them will be helpful to me. I feel like I finally know how to be healthy on the off-days. I don't know the doses of ALA/DMSA I was taking but do remember upping the dose a few times during the process. I didn't get worse (long run) when I stopped chelation for a few years. The only psychiatric stuff I'd have was from slipping up and eating a detoxifying food or not taking one of my supplements for a few days. I don't wish to be argumentative here, I'm just a curious person and trying to make decisions for myself, and I'm wondering what the evidence says about the consequences of mercury left sitting in the brain, if it's not stirred up? Has anyone ever focused on going the opposite route with it, putting their efforts into making sure it doesn't move around? I realize that's counter-intuitive, but I can tell you that someone who gets as crazy as I do, felt great when doing this. Normal. Healthy and happy. I couldn't ride up mountains but I could ride hard on more *level* terrain to my heart's content. I'd get a little tired in the summer. That's about it. The heat was one thing I couldn't control. But I suppose moving to Alaska would take care of that. As I am with most things, I do things my own way. I follow my own inner guidance, do a lot of research, and incorporate that which I find, which rings right with me, along the way. And yes, I get anemic very quickly if I don't take massive amounts of iron. I have the gene for esophogeal rings (only found in women of northern European descent) -- the rings form (supplements get stuck in the throat as a result, it looks, even on an x-ray like there is a rubber band around the outside of the esophogus) when iron levels are low. I used to get this only around periods, then would get it in between periods the more toxic I got. I look pale and feel weak and find myself taking deep breaths of air...and if I let it go on long enough I can't sleep, headache... whenever the rings are present, so no question this is about iron deficiency. Clearly, for some reason, my body won't store it. If I went without iron, I would be on the mat in nothing flat. I avoided taking it for years because everyone said to be careful of taking too much iron, and it turned out to be one of the things I needed most. And a lot of it. That was a major turning point in my recovery. How much adrenal cortex can a person take? Is there DHEA in that? I would think so. And do you take it in divided doses, or just in the morning? I've just been taking it in the morning. And I'm guessing the cortex is much more powerful than just " raw adrenal " . I take 4 B- 50's a day. I take hydrolyed collagen which is supposed to help the adrenals. Anything else I should be doing? I can't imagine drinking salty water. I think I'm just going to have to stick with putting it on my food. How much do you put in your water? I'm also going to " up " my molybdenum. I know that has something to do with iron absorbtion and I remember being very low on that in the hair test. I didn't know you could take 1000 mcg a day. Is there any way to get lithium without a prescription? Thanks very much for your help... Jen > > > > I was part of this group years ago and pop back in every so often.
