Guest guest
Ah - not quite sure. I've done 79 rounds all together - DMSA and ALA. It's about half and half. Average length of round, 6.5 days, but that's because my DMSA rounds are a lot shorter (5 days, used to be 3). Dave. ------------------ Posted by: " letsdetox " letsdetox@... Guest guest
No not really. I was just curious You said you had psychiatric symptoms when you started chelation. Did this appear when you started using chelating agents and/or removed amalgams or before that? May i ask you what psychiatric stuff you had? Guest guest
Yes. Well, I've been ADHD all my life (thought I only figured that out when my neuropsych prof started describing ADHD, and I went " Hey, that's me " ! Then, after getting all of my filling out without too much in the way of proper protection (no one knew what they were doing back in 1988), I started to get really, really aggressive. I also began to get withdrawn. I had no idea what people were doing and why. I would hide in my office. People were trying to offer me academic jobs, but I just .... couldn't understand that they were trying to be nice.... It took years (early 2000's) before I collapsed into chronic fatigue, FM, TMJ - the works. When that happened, I started to become what a psychologist would term, " internally preoccupied " . I could sense things about people, what their emotional state was, what there internal fantasies were. Sometimes, I could even hear what they were thinking. I would just close my eyes, or kind of withdraw internally, and I could hear it. All that is what's called " mercurial erethism " , but that sensing of flowing energies, loss of boundaries, preoccupation with internal states - that's entering the world of psychosis. There was also some paranoia - that's a product of the stimulation of the amygdala, a part of the brain associated with the perception of fear and threat and which is a mercury target. Well, I don't know where the courage came from, but after a couple of years of this, I woke up and day, while talking to my therapist, and said (I admit panic at the time), " I am really, _really_ sick! " I knew right away what it was. I had looked into chelation back in 1988, but no one knew what the were doing. It all seemed just too crazy, so I decided to do nothing. I remember thinking to myself at the time, " Oh well, at 25 years half life, I'll probably live two more - so the brain mercury will be down to 1/4 of what it is now, by the time I die. " I don't know how - god's grace, maybe? When I started reading on the web, one day I found a mention of Andy by a patient on DrStollMD's site. The first page of Andy's book listed all the things people were doing back in the late 80's and said, " Don't do these. " With that, I knew I was on the right track. Oh, and when I started chelating (end of 2004), I found that if I went on too long, ALA would provoke severe paranoia, truly terrifying. At first those symptoms began to appear at 9 days into a round. Later it was 12 and now I do 15 regularly without a problem. Well, I got a little off track with this email! Perhaps I'm still a bit tangential.
