I have not had much luck researching this programme (I have

been looking for an hour)although there are some listings in a Google

search. Nothing very informative and seems to indicate that it is

becoming standard practice in the UK. The drinks are called Enlive

Plus and Ensure Plus, made by Abbot Nutrition.

The Programme as we saw it involved the peri-operative and post-

operative drinks, taken twice daily. Epidural anaesthesia was used and

no anti-biotics. Next day food was taken by mouth as normal. Searches

on colorectal surgery and nutrition seem to reveal that this is a way

of fast-tracking colorectal surgery patients and reducing minor

complications. It is early days for us of course!
