> Also, when you start ACE, are you supposed to take it throughout

the day? I know it was suggested I take it in the morning since

that's where my test showed I need it most, though I was relatively

low the rest of the day too. Thanks for any info on that :)

> I believe Sunshine said he takes his all in the morning. And if

I remember right, somebody said they take one in the morning and two

at lunch. And I think I have old instructions from Andy saying to

take it 3 or 4 times a day, so I guess you just have to see what

works best for you.

--------Yeah, I take my ACE dose all in the morning. When I started

supplementing it I dosed at breakfast, lunch and dinner and I could

not sleep at night. so I stopped the evening dose and I slept half

the night. so I stopped the lunch time dose and dosed all in the

morning and I slept as per normal. I have seen posts from some that

supplement ACE at night to help them sleep…!!! Everyone is different, it is fine

to experiment and see what happens.

note: I am very low cortisol in the mornings.

Hi Robin,

We have a lot in common.

I've been on Cortef (5mg at 8am and 5mg at 12pm) for a couple years and

recently added 50mg of ACE. The added ACE helped me tremendously but

lately hasn't been doing the trick so I upped the dose to 75mg. We'll

see if that helps.

Unfortunately, I have had the weight gain he's talking about. It's a

bummer, big bummer (pun intended, lol) but it's WAY better than being

confined to my couch, unable to work or even go out and being a general

emotional mess all the time.

I may be 15 pounds overweight but I have a great job, socialize with

friends, had a fantastic romantic relationship and am handling a

painful breakup with an amazing amount of sanity. All things I could

never have done before.

My plan is to wean off all the adrenal meds eventually. I have some

surgery coming up soon and work is going to get busy so now isn't the

time for it but that is my goal.

I'll be posting more with questions on weaning off adrenal meds and the

best way to prep for surgery but wanted to respond to your post since I

related so much.

All the best on your path of recovery and feel free to email me off

list if you like,

:^)

Just reading AI page 78 where Andy says

" cortisol elevates mood and reduces anxiety and relieves tension by

direct action on the brain. 5mg 2-4 times per day is enough to have

some of this effect, it happens quickly, and this is not enough to lead

to the negative side effects of glucocorticoid use like HPA supression

or excessive weight gain. "

So maybe I should be dividing my doses of Thorne ACE throughout the

day?

Also, what's this about weight-gain? Fat? Man, I am at my perfect

weight, it's like the ONLY thing I don't have a problem with :-) I

certainly hope I don't have to buy all new clothes...

In other news, when I first received a Meyers Push from a doctor here

in my new town (before I even knew about metals) he added some

(probably absurd) amount of ACE to the mix. I felt GREAT for about an

hour or two and then I seriously crashed. That night I couldn't sleep

very well so I thought, hey, maybe I don't need cortisol.

But now I'm thinking, as usual, the American M.D. " used a sledgehammer

when a putty knife would have done the job, " and so the problem was not

the stuff but the amount of the stuff. (This was the same clown who

injected me later with a couple grams of DMPS and EDTA. He's now

advertising super injections of a-Lipoic Acid (!) I want to stand

outside his office with a placard warning patients away.)

In any case, I imagine that putting cortisol in one's veins, even a

small amount, is not such a good idea? Too much of a good thing?
