Guest guest
Hi Beth: I am glad you liked your 1st session. I took my rehab in Feb 09 and have continued to go three times a week to maintain the strength in my muscles. The team recommended that we maintain the muscles since well tuned muscles use less oxygen and for those of us with PF that means our lungs do not have to work as hard.As posted in earlier posts I am a firm believer that I am able to walk, drive, go shopping and do almost all the daily tasks by following the techniques taught in the rehab class. You will also benefit a great deal if you keep a positive attitude when the going gets tough and do the best you can do with the limited resources you have. Also do not be discouraged if you could not do certain exercise keep trying to stretch it a little further the next time. Also do not compare yourself with what others can or cannot do but learn from the ones that can do more than you and see if you can improve your technique so that you can get more out of your exercise. The most important lesson to learn is the exercise will keep your living organs ( lungs and heart in my case) to perform better and compensate for the dead tissue that cannot perform. Good luck and keep it up. Regards Pravin > > > > I'm home from my first day of pulmonary rehab.
