Thanks - everything you say makes sense. In reply to your questions

about testing etc., I originally went to this new ND with self-

diagnosis of adrenal fatigue. Was diagnosed with fibro & CFS 15 yrs

prior. Had severe life crisis 7 yrs prior. She did saliva test & it

came back extremely low, so started HC at that point. I worked up to

15-20 mg, but fatigue was still very persistent. She added licorice,

with no consequence.

Shortly after she did C & glutithione IV's which

made me extremely sick. Then she did heavy metal testing (challenge)

followed by very high dose of DMSA chelation, which practically killed

me - the only good part is that it led me to this group.

With still

not much relief from mentioned adrenal support, I started ACE on my

own (she approved) I felt that something was still missing so I

started investigating thyroid stuff. My blood tests (TSH, T3/T4)were

normal but I exhibited all the hypo symptoms, so I persuaded her to

let me do a trial of Armour and now T3. She has done all the normal

blood work plus hormone profile, showing estrogen/progesterone very

low. I was under the assumption that hair testing wouldn't be

necessary or informative at this point, but will surely pursue if it

would be helpful. Quite frankly I can't remember everything that was

tested & the results, but can get copies of those reports. As you

probably notice, I am doing more in diagnosing than my doctor but it

is the best I can do in my area & she is at least open-minded. Thanks

for all your help.

As far as my chelation experience, I felt relatively steady for the

first approx 6 mos - meaning pretty much sick all the time but not

noticeably different on or off rounds. Then I started seeing

improvement in my brain function followed by some improvement in

energy which lasted for a couple months. Then the decline back to

square one like I mentioned.

What are the 2 patterns for adrenal exhaustion?
